How to win against yourself in 2020

Someone has said it right.

Our limitations are created by ourselves. There is not even a single thing which we cant achieve. But…..

Let’s see this video of Virat Kohli reminiscing about how he transformed from being ordinary to the world-class champion that he is today.

He comes back home after a bad day at the game , has a shower, comes out, stands in front of a mirror and looks at himself. He is ashamed of what he sees. An unfit athlete trying to compete at the highest level. Something happens- may be extreme shame- he wants to be better. Starting that instant , he changes his entire diet. He cuts all junk food. Starts consuming only lean food. He starts hitting the gym 5 days a week. He does not cheat on his own commitment even once. He sheds about 8 kilos in a few months and becomes an extremely fit athlete. His approach to the game changes thanks to his fitness and he attains a completely different level of proficiency.

Virat Kohli moved from being ordinary in 2012 to becoming extraordinary in a couple of years thanks to the change that happened in that one instant when he stood in front of the mirror, ashamed at what he saw of himself.

There are a lot of things we can learn from this:

  1. If you make a goal, push towards it, believe in yourself.
  2. Check on yourself, dont break those rules you have setup for yourself.
  3. Think how beautiful the end result would be, this will help in your journey
  4. Follow 21 Day rule, you do something for 21 days regularly, it becomes a habit.
  5. Think positive and Enjoy it.

You now have a goal, reason to push, enjoy the journey and you will achieve it. A lot of us give up citing reasons of work, no time etc. which is nothing but we are giving up to our own selves.

As we grow reason to push are limited and we start to enjoy this life of stalemate where only things we like to do are easy and wont take much effort.

Have you ever thought off completing an important job and end up scrolling through the Internet….. that is a warning signal, you knew you had an important task at hand and you did nothing about it as scrolling through internet was an easier thing to do and worse ( Just sleep off the entire day).

Another example, getting up early in the morning or exercising your body, both requires you to give your body a little bit pain to feel better in the end but most of us end up avoiding it by either waking up late or sleeping for those VERY essential 5 more minutes.

Leave these things for 21 days and see the transformation in you.

Have a great 2020.
